Moodboard

Moodboard, also know as an "inspiration board" turned out to be a great way for us to focus on the design process, and really useful for capturing and organizing our thoughts and converting them into visuals.

We used Figma for this purpose because it was really easy to collaborate and share our ideas.

Most of the inspiration we found in AirBnb, as we saw the map with prices that were clearly visible and adapted to everyone.

We also picked the photos of the cities that we later included in our high fidelity prototypes, looking up to Google Flights.

Storyboard

This was my first time to actually draw a storyboard with my hand, and while doing it, I actually realized the importance of picturing the entire "To-Be" scenario and how it might help in my future design decisions. I learned that storyboards can also enhance journey maps by adding an image of the user‘s context in different stages while using the product.

Storytelling Canvas

This was the first time I did storytelling canvas, and I saw some good points that will make me use it in my future projects as well.

First one is - you gotta have a story. It helps a lot because "Without a clear idea of your story it’s hard to pick the right tools to shape it!" (source: Medium)

The canvas helps because it contains straight forward question we had to answer, and answers made us realize that our user doesn't want just an app for booking the flight. He wants entire experience showing the app understands him and his needs. The app that knows he's searching for the best deal and the importance of the booking the flight itself. It's a big thing, it's not just a form.

Empathy Map

We used Empathy maps to enhance the empathy towards the user, but also for categorizing and making sense of qualitative research data and discovering the possible gaps in the research itself.

It also served us as a quick way to show users' behaviors, thoughts and attitudes to other members of the team and stakeholders. One thing to add more, is that it's crucial to keep them updated as more research is done.
